Let the parents decide which details are public
Use the baby’s confirmed name only once the parents have shared it, and ask before using a family photograph. Early spellings or dates in a group chat may change or be private. You can celebrate just as warmly with ‘A very proud parent’ and the adult’s own portrait. Do not feel you must add the baby’s full name, birth date and every announcement detail to make the design meaningful.
Choose a kind message for a changed routine
Keep the humour gentle. ‘Small moments, big love’ or ‘A well-earned tea break’ can feel warmer than a joke about chaos, exhaustion or getting parenting wrong. Follow the names and titles the family uses, including single parents, adoptive parents and other family arrangements. Moons with cream makes a soft starting point, but a bright colour or original photo can suit a parent who prefers a less baby-themed design.
Give the adults their own keepsake
A portrait of one parent keeps the mug personal; a clear two-person image can celebrate a pair if you choose the couple subject. Use a relaxed photo with faces well lit rather than a rushed hospital snapshot they may not want displayed. Each 11oz ceramic mug costs £15 including VAT and is printed in-house by Sandycroft Workwear Ltd. Free UK delivery is in 1–2 working days. If you make more than one, use individual names so each adult has their own design.
