Choose the person before you choose the Christmas gift

Start with how they actually spend their tea break. A photo gift for Mum might use a relaxed family memory; a present for Dad could be a cartoon portrait with a familiar saying. A partner may prefer a photograph of the two of you, while a colleague might enjoy a first name and a gentle festive joke. The same mug can tell very different stories because you choose the image, wrap colour and words.

There is no need to guess a clothing size or choose a keepsake they will only display in December. Leave off the year and use a simple background if you want an everyday mug. Add snowflakes, Santa hats or Christmas trees when the seasonal feeling is part of the gift.

Personalised photo gifts: original photograph or cartoon?

An original photo keeps the expression and details of a memory. Choose this when likeness matters most, or when the recipient would rather see the photograph exactly as you selected it. A Santa, elf or winter cartoon adds a new festive character. Other portrait styles can be paired with Christmas patterns, so a gift can be seasonal without wearing a costume.

Use the original JPEG or PNG where possible. A face in daylight, looking towards the camera, is a better starting point than a tiny screenshot. Before approving a generated portrait, inspect eyes, glasses, hands and distinctive features. Cartoon results are artistic interpretations; the illustrated mugs on this page show example designs.

A personalised Christmas gift under £20, with a clear total

One 11oz white ceramic mug costs £15 including VAT and free UK delivery. That makes it a suitable choice for a £15 or £20 gift budget. It is not an under-£10 gift. Extra chocolates, ribbons or Christmas Eve box accessories are not included. If you add your own treats, count those towards the total budget too.

Buying several presents? Make every mug different

Create and approve each design, add it to the basket and make the next. You can upload up to four photos in the studio and keep different designs for different recipients. Four mugs cost £45 because every fourth mug is free; the offer combines different photos, names and styles in the same basket. One checkout uses one UK delivery address. Separate deliveries need separate orders.

Plan the preview and delivery before your gift exchange

Check the recipient’s name, the spelling of your message and the front, back and full-wrap views. Your approved artwork is what goes to print. PickleDodo mugs are printed in-house by Sandycroft Workwear Ltd in Sandycroft, Flintshire. The advertised UK delivery is 1–2 working days; allow time for personalisation and ordering before a Christmas party. A Christmas arrival deadline has not been published, so contact us if a particular date is essential.
