Celebrate the news they have chosen to share
Wait until the couple has announced their engagement before creating a public-looking celebration gift. If the proposal is still private, take your cue from them. You do not need a photograph of the exact proposal: a lovely picture they already share can be more useful than a dark restaurant snap. ‘A very good yes’ or ‘Here’s to your next chapter’ offers congratulations without guessing their future wedding plans.
Make both people part of the portrait
Choose a couple photo where neither face is hidden or far away. A close, evenly lit picture gives an original photo or 3D toon portrait a better starting point. If one person dislikes cartoon exaggeration, keep the style gentle. Mint with champagne motifs makes a celebratory combination, while hearts, stars or bows can work for people who would prefer the design without a drinks theme.
Add details that are settled
First names and the engagement date are usually safer than an unconfirmed wedding date or future surname. Read the names carefully before approving the preview, especially where a nickname differs from the spelling you see online. A mug for each person can share the same photo but use their own name and colour. They cost £15 each including VAT, with free UK delivery in 1–2 working days. A family buying four different celebration mugs together pays £45 automatically.
